Objectives of ICA2008
The rapid development in audiology and hearing sciences opens horizons for new practices and paves the way for exciting future directions. The XXIXth International Congress of Audiology will explore our theme of Latest Technologies, New Practices, Future Directions through research presentations, invited lectures, interactive workshops, clinical rounds and panel discussions led by pre-eminent speakers.

Call for Papers
Any original research and case study papers related to audiology and hearing sciences are invited . ICA 2008 encourages papers related to the three Roundtable Discussion Topics of the Congress: Improving Outcomes of Hearing Prostheses; Epidemiology & Genetics of Hearing Loss; and, Hearing Loss & Ageing. Papers contributed from professionals in the fields of medicine, engineering, re/habilitation, deaf education, and hearing health care are welcomed. Papers will be accepted either for oral or poster presentations in English, the official conference language.

Roundtable Topics

• Improving Outcomes of Hearing Prostheses.
  How effective are our current rehabilitation strategies?
  How can we make them more so?
  What new developments can improve client satisfaction?
  
  
• Epidemiology & Genetics of Hearing Loss.
  How have the remarkable advances in genetic science affected our knowledge of the causes of hearing loss?
  How have changes in health care affected the causes of hearing loss?
  What is known of likely future trends in hearing health status?

• Hearing Loss & Ageing.
  Societies in many countries are greying.
  How does this affect audiology as a profession?
  What are the needs of this major client group and how can they be best met in the future?
